Important Notices:

The 2023 Enrollee Decision Period has ended.

Impacted enrollees
Premiums will increase for most FLTCIP enrollees, effective January 1, 2024. We mailed Enrollee Decision Period letters in September to FLTCIP enrollees who are impacted. The letter included information about the premium increase with personalized options to help mitigate the impact of the increase.

Next steps
We processed the selections that were made during the Enrollee Decision Period. Impacted enrollees will receive an updated Schedule of Benefits in December reflecting any changes to coverage and/or premium effective January 1, 2024. The mailings will start in early December and will be sent over several days so they may not receive them at the same time as other enrollees. If they did not select an option during the decision period, their selection defaulted to Option 1 and their premium will automatically increase effective January 1, 2024. Any change in premium will first appear in their January 2024 billing cycle. Learn more >

New FLTCIP Regulations and Application Suspension Period

The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) suspended applications for coverage under the Federal Long Term Care Insurance Program (FLTCIP) effective December 19, 2022. This was done to allow OPM and the FLTCIP carrier, John Hancock Life & Health Insurance Company, the time to thoroughly assess benefit offerings and establish sustainable premium rates that reasonably and equitably reflect the cost of the benefits provided, as required under 5 U.S.C. 9003(b)(2).
